ABOUT US

The Trial Advocacy Committee (TAC) is one of the most dynamic and active committees of the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University). Formed through the collaboration of the erstwhile Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee and the Litigation Committee, TAC seeks to cultivate excellence in advocacy, litigation, and criminal law among students.

The Committee is dedicated to developing practical legal skills by providing students with opportunities to engage in experiential learning beyond the classroom. Through a wide range of academic and co-curricular initiatives, TAC equips students with essential advocacy, research, drafting, and courtroom skills while fostering a deeper understanding of criminal law and litigation practice.

The Committee organizes flagship Trial Advocacy Competitions, beginning with introductory rounds and culminating in prestigious National Rounds. In addition, it conducts judgment writing competitions, paper presentation sessions, guest lectures by eminent legal practitioners and academicians, jail visits, forensic laboratory visits, workshops, and other skill-oriented activities that expose students to the practical dimensions of the criminal justice system.

By bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, the Trial Advocacy Committee strives to create competent, ethical, and confident advocates who are well-prepared to excel in the legal profession.
